How to determine the Logical partition number

CoolSpools is licensed by LPAR (Logical partition). It is important that the correct LPAR number is provided when purchasing CoolSpools or requesting a license key from Ariadne Software.

How do you determine the Logical Partition number?

If CoolSpools is installed

The simplest method is to use the CoolSpools command DSPPRDINF (Display product information).

The initial screen displays the system information and the status of your CoolSpools licenses.

For example:

                        CoolSpools - Product Information

 Product code  . . . . . .   7COOLSP    Version code  . . . . . .   V7R1M0

If CoolSpools is NOT installed

The Logical Partition ID can also be found on the green screen as follows:

You can either:

1. Type GO SERVICE and press Enter.
2. Select Option 6 (Display service registration information).

For example:

                           Service Agent Registration

or, alternatively, use an IBM program:

1. Enter CALL PGM(QLZARCAPI)

2. The information can be viewed in the job log with DSPJOGLOG.

for example:

> CALL QLZARCAPI
